Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 250/100-Tr VE.Can Solar Charge Controller

  • Solar charge controller

The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger uses the latest and fastest technology to convert energy from a solar array into energy that optimally charges a battery bank.

The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely depleted battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 Volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged.

  • MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking

The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger connects to a PV array of 150 or 250 Volt Voc and will automatically detect and charge your 12, 24, or 48V battery bank with current ranging from 70 to 100A depending on the model.

The charge settings are fully programmable and can even be set up for different battery chemistries, like lead-acid, lithium and others.

  • Control Your Charger Remotely

The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger can be remotely controlled and configured over Bluetooth via the VictronConnect App. This allows device set-up, management, and at-a-glance information, such as battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, and historical data.

  • Daisy Chain Additional Units

The VE.Can SmartSolar charger is equipped with CAN bus ports. This allows for communication with additional VE.Can SmartSolar chargers. The additional units are simply “daisy-chained” to each other with a single RJ45 cable between the individual units.

When connected to each other, all individual VE.Can SmartSolar chargers, will synchronize their charge stages. They can also send their data, via a single cable, to a GX monitoring device.

  • Remote Monitoring and Control

If the GX device is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) provides access to the full power of your solar charger(s).

For remote installations – even when there is no internet connection nearby – you may be able to monitor your MPPT by connecting the  GlobalLink 520.

  • SmartSolar Control Display

The VE.Can SmartSolar charger is also equipped with a VE.Direct port like our other MPPT solar chargers. This port can be for single unit monitoring or for streetlight control. The remote on/off connector can be externally controlled by a third-party device like a lithium battery. An optional plug-in LCD display/control provides live-data, set-up and management, straight from the face of the device.

Grundfos CU 202 SQFlex Control Unit

CU 202 is designed for monitoring and controlling SQFlex submersible pumps in solar applications.

The simple user interface and built-in Bluetooth module ensure easy installation and configuration. The Bluetooth connection to the Grundfos GO app offers extensive setup and monitoring options.

CU 202 is pre-configured for tank filling, the most used application, offering a plug-and-pump solution, which saves time on commissioning. For other applications, the controller provides several control modes, which can be easily selected and set through the Grundfos GO app. Grundfos GO makes the configuration easier and allows installers to set up high-performing systems.

CU 202 communicates with the pump through the power cable. This communication principle is called mains borne signaling or powerline communication and means that no additional cables are required to the pump.

Grundfos GO offers detailed information and logs that help the installer to find the root cause in failure situations. In addition, the controller can use Wi-Fi, GENIbus, or Modbus to monitor the system remotely either through Grundfos Connect or another SCADA system. Remote monitoring saves time when inspecting installations.

CU 202 is equipped with power and pump connections and offers 2 configurable inputs and outputs. Additionally, a backup battery can be added to the controller to maintain communication and measurements when solar power is insufficient.

The display of the controller shows:

  • System status indication
  • Alarm and warning indication

The pump can be turned on and off through the display of the controller. The controller can display a read-out of the application-related data. It is also possible to adjust the setpoint. The LEDs on the display of the controller can be set to sleep mode, for example, to avoid attracting wildlife.

The following logs are available through Grundfos GO or remote monitoring:

  • User setting log (25 entries)
  • Alarms and warnings (50 entries)
  • Installation log (filled out by the installer)
  • Historic data for different intervals (total, today, and yesterday) for:
    • Operation time
    • Number of starts
    • Energy consumption
    • Volume pumped (provided that a flow meter is connected)

CU 202 indicates warnings and alarms on the display of the controller. Additionally, the Grundfos GO app provides further information on these events including the recommended solutions.
